HUMAN PACKAGING
Packaging can be seen as a metaphor of human evolution. In the past, we put on clothes for comfort as well as a form of protection deterring from weather elements and harsh climates. Today, on top of the practicality of clothes, it is also a form of communication for one’s desire to be perceived by others.
“Clothing concerns all of the human person, all of the body, all the relationships of man to body as well as the relationships of the body
to society.”
(Barthes, 2006)
With reference from Barthes’ quote, it is an undeniable fact that the clothes we put on everyday reflect our individual identity, taste and social status at a first glance. Collectively, there is bound to have a slight distinction between wearing the right clothes and dressing right for
the occasion.
